December 15th,  2005

Greetings..  I've had the opportunity to play some cool gigs lately, including one with the League Of Decency at Turner Field in the 755 Club..  It is located upstairs between center field and left field, and is a very nice place to have a corporate event..  The load in wasn't very easy, but it wasn't too bad..  The band sounded great, and the clients and their guests had a blast dancing all night, especially to the "Electric Slide"..  I have one more gig with the League this year, unless something comes up..  I've learned alot this year, playing with the best jazz, swing band in town..  I am looking forward to many more gigs with them next year, and already have several on the books, including the Egyptian Ballroom at the Fox Theatre..  More about that later..
Thursday nights are still a great way to start the weekend early with me at Monterrey's Mexican Restaurant on Buford Highway in Doraville..  It is the home of my regular, weekly, solo acoustic gig, and it is always a fun party..  Margarita specials, great Mexican cruisine, cold beer, and yours truly playing all of  your favorite tunes..  The song list remains wide open, and lately has included John Lennon, Conway Twitty, REO Speedwagon, Bob Dylan, Beatles, David Bowie, Bad Company, Poison, Neil Diamond, Simon and Garfunkel, America, Eagles, Bread, and many others..  Music starts around 7:45 p.m...  Come on down!!
I will be performing with Risky Business at the Safari in Winder on Friday and Saturday night, December 16th and 17th..  I have played several gigs over the years with Jimmy B (bass player), and it is always alot of fun to work with him..  We will be playing rock, and funk all night long!!  I have played the Safari many times with KNIGHT TRANE, and I always have a great time there..  Hope you can make it to at least one of these gigs..  Music starts at 9:00 p.m..  Visit for details about the band..
I've been writing new songs to record at Down In Deep studios with Marty Kearns in the near future..  Hopefully I will be ready to record them at the first of the year..  I have also been jamming with Van Temple (The Producers), Steve Taylor (The Blonz), Matt Slaughter, and Rick Austin (Barry Richman) at the Tucker Honk Tonk every once in a while..  Lots of fun..  There is a possibility I will be playing with the Ron Kimble Band at Uncle Woody's on New Years Eve, but nothing is definite yet..  I will keep you posted..  I am also planning a KNIGHT TRANE reunion after the first of the year..  I've been in contact with a few of the players that worked with me in the band over the years..  I am looking forward to it..  Dave Webb (Sugarland, Knight Trane) emailed to let me know he is interested in getting together for a reunion, and sent me a picture from the CMA awards..  I will post it at the bottom of this news column..
Make sure to sign the guest book, and let me know you dropped by..
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!  <<<<<  This is for everyone who is trying to have the word Christmas done away with..  What a bunch of losers....
