Greetings.. Well, it
has been back to the grind this week, teaching students, writing
music, and booking gigs after vacationing last week.. I had the
opportunity to play at Chateau Elan, for their wine tasting festival
on Saturday afternoon with the
League Of Decency.
It was a great
party, and lots of people wanted to dance in the sun after drinking
free wine and sangria.. It was my first visit to Chateau Elan.. It
was quite an enjoyable time.. LOLOL..
I'll be playing solo acoustic at Monterrey's Mexican Restaurant on Thursday evenings for the next few weeks, so if you get a chance, stop by and have some great food and margarita specials. Monterrey's has the best mexican food in town, and really tasty margaritas.. We always have a great party on Thursdays, and the song list is wide open.. Music starts around 8:00 p.m. Hope to see you there..
Heaven Davis new c.d. is being played all over the country.. Heaven is a wonderful singer and a great entertainer.. I will be performing with her at Stone Mountain on Friday, September 9th.. If you like blues, rock, r&b, and soul, you will love Heaven.. Visit her website at www.heavendavis.com.
Gigs are a little scarce at the present moment, and are not as abundant as they were earlier in the year.. I am fortunate to have several corporate gigs coming up with the League Of Decency. We have some one nighters, and some out of town stuff on the calendar.. We will be playing at A TASTE OF ATLANTA September 23rd, and it is open to the public.. Should be a big time.. I have some gigs booked with Ron Kimble in October, and I will also be playing some solo acoustic gigs at Blue Moose Tavern, and an outside show in Doraville on October 29th..
Most of my students have returned from summer vacation, and I almost have a full schedule at Music and Arts.. I am blessed to have a lot of students that actually practice, and want to learn.. It is a great reward to see students progress in their guitar playing and musicianship.. It makes it all worthwhile...
The Big Story on Fox News ran a segment on my murdered friend, George Lathbury, on Friday night.. It was very surreal to watch, and listen to them rehash all the events again.. Libby Lathbury (his wife), is still missing, and the police have warrants for her arrest. The whole case has been very bizarre, and hopefully the cops will locate her, and bring her to justice.. Only time will tell.. I will keep you informed on any new details..
That is all the news for now.. Please sign the guestbook while you are here, and let me know you visited.. Hope to see you soon.. Here is a pic from the beach for your pleasure.. Peace, Tommy
