August 16th, 2005

Greetings.. This past week was like a rollercoaster ride, with lots of ups and downs.. Tuesday (August 9th), was the memorial service for my friend George Lathbury who was found murdered.. I played an hour of acoustic instrumentals while the guests arrived at Patterson's Funeral Home in downtown Atlanta.. Everyone was still dazed by the turn of events, and you could hear the shock in their voices.. A few of George's friends shared their memories of him, and then I sang one of his favorite songs, "Sound Of Silence", by Simon and Garfunkel.. It was an honor to be there, and something I will never forget.. George will be missed by many, and it is hard to accept that he is gone.. The police are still searching for his wife, and have a murder warrant for her.. Mae Gentry wrote an excellent article in the Sunday Atlanta Journal about the case.. I'll keep you informed of further events surrounding this horrible crime..

MOTION played at Jake's Toadhouse on Friday evening.. The place was packed, and the band sounded great.. I had a blast playing all the Zeppelin, Foreigner, and Journey tunes with some of the best players around. I am looking forward to many upcoming gigs. Visit our website at www.motionrocks.com.

Saturday night I played with the League Of Decency at the old Biltmore Hotel on West Peachtree Street.. The band was cooking, and the dance floor was crowded all night.. I have lots of gigs coming up with the League, so stay tuned..
I am leaving town on the 17th for a very needed vacation in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.. I will return next week in time to do the solo acoustic gig at Monterrey's Mexican Restaurant in Doraville on the 25th.. Margarita specials, and great food await you, so come on out and see me at Monterrey's..

I will be playing on August 27th at Chateau Elan with the League Of Decency for the wine tasting festival.. This is open to the public, and should be lots of fun. Drinking wine all day for free.. HHHMMM... Sounds like a hard job, but someone has to do it..

This is all the news for now, but I will keep you up to date about gigs and events.. Hope to see all of you soon... Stay tuned.....
