March 2nd,  2006

Greetings..  I've had the opportunity to play some pretty cool gigs lately, and hopefully I will have some more coming up in the future..
The League of Decency traveled to Tampa, Florida to play in in the Convention Center..  It was a huge party, and everyone had a great time..  We arrived in town in time to play the Egyptian Ballroom in the Fox Theatre for a Mardi Gras Celebration..  It is always a fun gig, even though the elevator is ancient, and at times can be tedious..  The band was cooking, the people were partying, and it was alot of fun to be a part of..  Last weekend, I played at Uncle Woody's with the Ron Kimble Band.  Ron is still in the ICU at Newton County Hospital with pneumonia, and so it was just Larry Mcdonald, Ernie Gregory, and myself doing the entertaining..  We played just about everything you can think of, and had 2 great nights with big crowds on each night..  Please remember Ron in your thoughts and prayers, and hopefully he will be back singing again soon..  Doug Head is currently working on one of my Fender Super Amps to get it back in shape to gig with..  Doug is a good friend and a great amp repair man..  He also invented the bias probe, which he builds in his shop, and sells internationally..
I also took my Gibson 59' Historic ES-335 to Peter Jones, to have him put in some new volume and tone pots, and put some Grover tuning keys on it for me..  Peter Jones is the best guitar repair guy in town..  He has worked on several of my guitars, and always does a fantastic job..  I am fortunate to know Doug and Peter, and have them as friends..
Thursday nights are still a great way to start the weekend early at Monterrey's Mexican Restaurant on Buford Highway in Doraville..  It is the home of my regular, solo, acoustic gig, and one of the highlights of my week..  They have the best in Mexican cruisine, tasty margaritas, and cold beer waiting for you!!  The song list always remains wide open, and can include anything..  Lately, the crowd has been hearing Beatles, Eagles, America, Bread, Conway Twitty, Restless Heart, Tim Mcgraw, Mason Williams, Bad Company, Village People, Neil Diamond, Drivin' n Cryin', Bob Dylan, Steve Miller, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, David Allen Coe, Poison, and John Lennon..  Music starts around 7:30 p.m.  Come on down..
The League Of Decency will be appearing at the Atlanta History Center on Saturday, March 4th..  We will also be appearing at Jake's Toadhouse, along with King Johnson, on Satuday March 25th..  That will be a gig that you absolutely do not want to miss..  2 hip bands in one night..  Sounds like a party to me..
I will be performing with the Ron Kimble Band at Uncle Woody's on Friday, March 24th..  Hopefully Ron will be able to sing at this show..
I am putting together a new project called BIG TROUBLE with Andrea Ellis, Chris Ortiz, and Bill Stewart..  We are currently learning material, and will be covering lots of territory..  You will hear Gretchen Wilson, Miranda Lambert, Martina Mcbride, Shania Twain, Fleetwood Mac, Melissa Etheridge, and lots of others..  We will be booking clubs soon..
Check the calendar for any last minute gigs, and check out the new photos in the gallerys..  Hope to see you at some gigs, soon...  Stay tuned
