January 20th, 2006

Howdy..  We are well into the new year, and it looks like it is just an extension of the last one..  I've had some great gigs at Monterrey's lately, and I have also been filling in for Tommy Taylor on some gigs with The Ron Kimble Band..  I've also been cheering on my favorite football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, which have now made it to the AFC Championship game..  Hopefully they will be in the Super Bowl in a couple of weeks..  I received an email from my friend, Dave Webb, which informed me that he is no longer with Sugarland.  Two years, and two million albums later, they could not reach an agreement in his contract..  Dave will not have a problem finding work, because he is a wonderful bassist, and a very fair person..  He is also a very good friend..  It is unfortunate that these things happen, but when you are in the business that we have chosen, it seems to be the normal thing..  I wish Dave the best of luck, and the best life has to offer..
Thursday nights are still one of the highlights of my week..  It is my regular, solo, acoustic gig at Monterrey's Mexican Restaurant on Buford Highway in Doraville..  Every Thursday, we have a party with the tastiest margaritas and the best in Mexican cruisine..  The song list is always wide open, and can consist of just about anything..  Lately, it has included REO Speedwagon, Styx, John Lennon, John Cougar Mellencamp, America, Conway Twitty, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Bread, Simon and Garfunkel, Poison, Harry Chapin, and Bad Company..  We have alot of fun every week, and it never gets dull of boring..  It is a great way to start the weekend early, so get out of the house, and come on down!!  Music starts around 7:45 p.m.
I will be playing with the Ron Kimble band on January 27th, and 28th at Hank and Jerrys Tavern in Conyers.. Ron is a great singer and entertainer, and is always full of surprises..  Many of you remember him from the old days at Hemingways..
MOTION will be appearing at Motorheads in Mcdonough on February 3rd, and 4th..  The band is ready to rock the house down, with tunes by Journey, Foreigner, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Loverboy, Styx, Van Halen, and others..  You don't want to miss these gigs, so make plans now to be there..  Visit http://www.motionrocks.com/
League Of Decency will be appearing in the Egyptian Ballroom at the Fox Theatre on February 18th, for a Mardi Gras Party..  We played this same gig last year, and it was an absolute blast..  visit http://www.leagueofdecency.com/
Thanks to everyone who has come out to gigs to hang out with me, or just to lend some support..  I am guilty of not taking the time to thank everyone at gigs, because sometimes I just forget to, or get busy doing something else..  I appreciate your friendship, and I feel very lucky to do something I love..  I hope to see you more in 2006...  Stay tuned!!
