January 5th, 2006

Happy New Year..  I brought in the New Year on stage at Uncle Woody's with the Ron Kimble Band.  We had a great time, and the club was packed..  The band consisted of Ron, Larry Mcdonald, Tommy Taylor, Ernie Gregory, and myself..  It was great to see old friends, and ring in the New Year together..  I hope this year will be a good one for everyone..
On a sad note, Marty Kearn's father passed away on Christmas Eve..  Marty is a very close friend of mine, and a wonderful musician, producer, and engineer..  Please remember him and his family in your thoughts and prayers..  Marty is absolutely brilliant, and one of the nicest people I have ever known in the music business..  I will be working with him very soon in his studio (Down In Deep), recording some solo acoustic songs..  You can hear some examples of his work by clicking on the song sampler on this web site..
Thursday nights are still a great way to start the weekend early by coming out to Monterrey's Mexican Restaurant on Buford Highway in Doraville..  It is the home of my regular, weekly, solo acoustic gig, and something I look forward to every week..  Margarita specials ( $9.00 pitchers, $4.00 Jumbos, $2.00 regulars ), the best in Mexican cruisine, and cold beer await you!!  The song list is always wide open, and can consist of just about anything you want to hear..  Lately, it has included John Lennon, America, Bad Company, Led Zeppelin, Harry Chapin, Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, Poison, Hoobastank, Conway Twitty, Willie Nelson, Simon and Garfunkel, Drivin n Cryin, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and REO Speedwagon..  I'm always ready to mix it up, because variety is the spice of music..  Music starts around 7:45 p.m., so come on down!!
Friday and Saturday night, February 6th and 7th, I will be performing with the Ron Kimble Band at Glenda's Bar and Grill on Highway 138 in Walnut Grove.. Ron is a great singer, and a wonderful entertainer..  He loves to mix it up, and is very capable of singing anything at any time..  It is always alot of fun to work with him, and he really keeps the band on it's toes..  Ron has been an Atlanta Icon for many years, and lots of you will remember him from the Hemingway's days..  Come and be entertained..  Music starts around 9:00 p.m. on both nights..
The League Of Decency will be performing at the Egyptian Ballroom in the Fox Theatre for a Mardi Gras party on February 18th..
MOTION will be performing at Motorheads in Mcdonough on February 3rd and 4th..  I am looking forward to this, because we will blow the roof off the place with music by Journey, Foreigner, Led Zeppelin, Loverboy, Styx, Van Halen, Head East, and Thin Lizzy..
It was great to see Dave Webb (Sugarland, Knight Trane), at my Monterrey's gig a couple of weeks ago..  He has been very busy this year, touring with Brad Paisley, and Sara Evans..  Sugarland will be on Jay Leno on January 12th, and will be on tour soon with Kenny Chesney..  Congratulations, DAVE!!
This is all of the news for now..  Be cool, and stay tuned...
