January 4th, 2007

Greetings..  The holidays are past us and it is time get back to business..  I had the chance to play some private corporate parties with the League Of Decency around Christmas, and it was lots of fun..  We played the Grand Salon in the Fox Theatre on the coldest night of the year, (seems like every time we play the Fox it is very cold), and the load in and load out is one of the hardest in town..  We will be back at the Fox in February..  We already have several corporate gigs lined up this year..  MOTION is making a few changes, and I am looking forward to playing some great gigs with that band this year..  We have a video on our website that shows what the band looks and sounds like in a live situation..  Check it out at www.motionrocks.com.  I have played lots of gigs with Ron Kimble lately, and he sounds better than ever..  Ron is quite a character, and can pull out any song at any time, so we have to be ready for anything..  The band also features Larry Mcdonald, and Ernie Gregory..  We performed a few Christmas parties this year, and one of them was a biker function in Walton County..  A good time was had by all..  Ron and I have discussed playing some gigs as an acoustic duo, and we will probably try it out this year to see how it sounds..  I always have a blast singing Simon and Garfunkel's tunes with him..  Between the two of us, we know thousands of songs and would never hurt for material..  I visited David and Jane Elliott in Rome at the end of the year.  They own and operate Southwind Sound, and I was employed as a monitor engineer on live gigs with them for many years..  We ran sound for many shows including Kenny Rogers, Ronnie MIlsap, Charlie Daniels, The Judds, Earl Thomas Conley, Sawyer Brown, and Exile..  It was great to see them again..  I am also working on a new project with George Calhoon, and details will be coming about that later..  I am looking forward to playing some gigs with George again..  He is one of my oldest and dearest friends, and a fine drummer..  Hopefully, I will also be back in the studio in January to record with Marty Kearns, one of the finest musicians and engineers in the business..
Thursday nights are still a great way to start the weekend early at Monterrey's Mexican Restaurant on Buford Highway in Doraville..  It is the home of my regular, solo, acoustic gig and is always lots of fun..  Margarita specials, great Mexican cuisine, and cold beer in frosty mugs await you..  I am constantly updating the song list, and you will hear just about anything you want to..  The food is geat and the service is outstanding..  It is what keeps the regulars coming back every week..  Music starts at 7:45 p.m..  Come on down..
The League Of Decency will be working corporate gigs in Roswell, and at the Fox Theatre in February..  I have some solo acoustic gigs coming up at Classic Pizza near Loganville on January 12th, and February 9th..  I've heard many people say that they have the best pizza in town.. Can't wait to try it..  I have many gigs with Ron Kimble coming up at Glenda's, Hank and Jerry's, Mickey Dee's, Rudy's, and the Depot..  Check the calendar for details and dates..
I am very thankful for having the opportunity to play and teach music..  I have been very blessed to be fortunate enough to play in many bands, and perform a wide variety of music..  It is something I never take lightly, and it is indeed my passion..  Thanks for your support, and I hope you will take the time to come out to some gigs in the future, and say hello..  I hope the new year will bring you much peace and happiness..  Stay tuned......
